Thanksgiving is about family, gratitude, and gathering around the table. But for some of our neighbors in Beckley and nearby communities like Mabscott, MacArthur, and Stanaford, putting a holiday meal together this year is a real stretch.
So we’re doing something about it. Through our Thanksgiving giveaway, Appalachian Heating is giving 5 local families a free 12–14 lb turkey to help put Thanksgiving dinner on the table, so they can focus on being together instead of on the cost.

How Our Thanksgiving Giveaway Works
1. Think of a family who could use a little help
Life doesn’t always go as planned. Maybe they’re dealing with:
- A job loss or cut in hours
- Medical bills that came out of nowhere
- The loss of someone they love
- A tough year that’s left the budget tight
Or maybe they just deserve some extra kindness this season. You can nominate yourself, a relative, a friend, or a neighbor.
2. Fill out the short nomination form
Tell us who you’re nominating, how to reach them, and a little about why they came to mind.
3. We’ll reach out to the families selected
After nominations close on November 19, our team will review every entry and choose 5 families. We’ll contact them directly to schedule their turkey before the holiday.

Thanksgiving Giveaway FAQs
Any family living in Appalachian Heating’s service area can be nominated, including your own. That includes Beckley, Bluefield, Bradley, Charleston, Daniels, Fayetteville, Flatwoods, Lewisburg, Marlinton, Mt. Hope, Oak Hill, Princeton, Richwood, Summersville, White Sulphur Springs. You must be 18 or older to submit a nomination.

Nominations close Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Our team reads every nomination, and 5 families will be randomly selected from all eligible nominations. Only one nomination per phone number and email address will be counted. Families may be nominated by multiple people, and each eligible nomination increases their chance of being selected.
Each selected family receives a 12–14 lb turkey.
Families can pick up their turkey at 6268 Robert C Byrd Dr, Mt Hope, WV 25880 or have it delivered to their home within our service area. We’ll set up a time that works for them when we call.
